Apryse Might Be Selling for $3 Billion!

Hey, so get this: Thoma Bravo, they're a big buyout firm, are thinking about selling this company called Apryse. People are saying it could go for over 3 billion bucks! Apparently, some folks are already interested in buying this software company that helps with documents.
So, Thoma Bravo has actually hired some investment bankers over at Lazard to help them out with this possible sale. The word on the street is that other private equity companies have already shown some interest. I guess Thoma Bravo might even keep a little bit of the company if a deal happens. But, tbh, they also said nothing is for sure right now, and they wanted to stay quiet about it.
Apryse is based out in Denver, Colorado. What they do is make technology for developers who create apps for phones and computers. This tech lets them mess with digital documents, like making, editing, and changing them. It also helps them put these document features right into their own apps. Big companies like Novartis, Wells Fargo, and even DocuSign use their stuff, or so their website says.
These sources are saying that Apryse makes more than 100 million dollars a year before all the interest, taxes, and other stuff are taken out. And get this, they're growing by more than 20% every year! If a deal does happen, people are thinking it will be worth at least 30 times what they make each year. That's a ton of money!
Apryse used to be called PDFTron. It started way back in 1998 as a platform for document technology. Thoma Bravo bought it in 2021. The guy who led that was Hudson Smith, who's one of the main people in Thoma's Discover platform. They changed the name to Apryse a couple of years later. Some other investors, Silversmith Capital Partners, and the team running the company still own a piece of it too.
Since Thoma Bravo took over, Apryse has bought nine other companies to make their stuff even better and reach more people around the world. For example, they just announced this week that they bought TallComponents, a company in the Netherlands that also works with digital documents. And last year, they bought this company called Lead Technologies, which makes software using AI. Pretty cool, huh?
