Apryse Might Be Selling for Billions!

Hey, so get this: the folks at Thoma Bravo, like, a big investment company, are thinking about selling Apryse. Apryse is that company that helps developers work with documents, you know, create and change PDFs and stuff. Turns out, some other companies are interested in buying them. Pretty cool, right?

I heard that Thoma Bravo is working with some bankers at Lazard to figure it all out. Apparently, some other private equity companies are already sniffing around. Sources are saying Thoma Bravo might even keep a little bit of ownership in Apryse after the sale. But, and this is important, they also said there's no guarantee this sale will actually happen. These sources wanted to stay anonymous, like, they didn't want their names out there talking about this private stuff.

When Reuters asked Thoma Bravo about it, they didn't say anything. Apryse and Lazard didn't get back to them either. Apryse is based out in Denver, Colorado. They make technology for people who are building mobile and computer apps. This tech lets those developers make apps where you can mess with digital documents, like creating them or converting them. Some pretty big names use Apryse, apparently, like Novartis, Wells Fargo, and even DocuSign.

So, Apryse is making a good chunk of change, over $100 million a year before all the fancy accounting stuff. And they're growing really fast, more than 20% each year! Sources are saying that if a deal does happen, the company could be worth maybe 30 times what it makes in a year, or even more. Wow, that's a lot of dough!

Apryse used to be called PDFTron, back in the day. It started way back in 1998. Thoma Bravo bought it in 2021, and then they changed the name to Apryse a couple of years later. Some of the original owners and a company called Silversmith Capital Partners still own a piece of it too.

Since Thoma Bravo took over, Apryse has bought nine other companies. They did this to add more features and reach more people around the world. Just recently, they bought a company from the Netherlands called TallComponents that works with digital documents. And last year, they bought a company that makes software with AI, called Lead Technologies. Looks like they're really growing!
