China's Tech Giants Ditch Nvidia, Try Homegrown Chips

Okay, so get this: China's biggest tech giants, like Alibaba, Tencent, and Baidu, you know, the really big ones, are apparently starting to switch gears. They're not using those Nvidia chips as much anymore.

Why? Well, it sounds like they're running low on their stash of Nvidia processors. Also, the US is making it tougher to get these chips with tighter export controls.

So, what are they doing instead? The Financial Times says these companies are trying out chips made right there in China. They need these chips for all the growing AI stuff they're doing. Industry folks are saying this is happening. I mean, Reuters couldn't confirm it right away, but it's making waves.

It makes you wonder, how much will this change things for the global tech scene?
