China's Tech Giants Shifting to Homegrown Chips?

So, check this out. It seems like some of the major tech companies in China are starting to look at using their own chips instead of the ones from Nvidia. Apparently, they're running low on Nvidia processors, and the US is making it tougher to get them. That's what The Financial Times said on Thursday, anyway.

Big names like Alibaba, Tencent, and Baidu are reportedly starting to test out these alternative chips. It kinda makes sense since there's a growing need for this stuff in China, especially for AI. The report mentioned some industry folks saying this is happening. Reuters wasn't able to confirm it right away, though.

It's interesting to see how this will all play out, right? Like, will these homegrown chips be just as good? Only time will tell, I guess. What do you think about this whole situation?
