Crypto Investor Accused of Brutal Kidnapping in NYC

So, check this out. There's this whole wild story goin' down in New York. Apparently, a grand jury just said this 37-year-old guy, a crypto investor named John Woeltz, is in big trouble. They say he kidnapped his business partner right there in fancy Soho and held him for like, three weeks! Can you even imagine?
And get this, prosecutors are saying it got super intense. They claim Woeltz and another guy, William Duplessie, shocked the poor dude with electric wires. Like, what?! And they even dangled him over a staircase. All this craziness just to get him to give up his Bitcoin password.
Yeah, Woeltz got picked up by the cops back in May. This all came out because the victim, who hasn't been named but some folks are saying is an Italian guy, told the police what happened. He said back in early May, Woeltz and Duplessie took his stuff, his phone, his passport, everything. And they were demanding he spill his password so they could snag his crypto.
Neither Woeltz nor Duplessie has said if they're guilty yet. Their lawyers aren't really talking, which, honestly, is kinda expected, right? Some news reports are calling Woeltz a crypto investor and saying both these guys had some kind of connection to a crypto hedge fund in New York. The New York Times apparently saw a police report that mentioned this.
When the victim wouldn't give up his password, things reportedly got really bad. Prosecutors claim Woeltz and Duplessie started beating him up pretty seriously. They tied his hands, hit him on the head with a gun, and even threatened his family. Seriously messed up stuff. Somehow, after all that, the guy managed to get away weeks later.
Duplessie was arrested just the other day and is supposed to be in court soon. Both these guys have been ordered to stay in jail by the judges. Woeltz is set to be in court to hear the charges officially on June 11th. Just an absolutely wild and scary situation, you know?
