Crypto Investor Accused of Wild Soho Kidnapping for Bitcoin

Okay, so get this wild story outta Manhattan. There's this guy, a crypto investor, 37 years old, who's been indicted. Apparently, he's accused of kidnapping his business partner up in Soho for, like, three whole weeks! Seriously, three weeks!

Prosecutors are saying this dude, John Woeltz, who got arrested back in May, did some messed-up stuff. The victim, an unnamed guy, told cops that John and another guy, William Duplessie, took his phone, passport, everything, and wanted his crypto password. They wanted to steal his Bitcoin, can you believe that?

So, the story goes, when this poor guy wouldn't give up his password, John and William allegedly went all out. They supposedly beat him up pretty bad for weeks until he finally got away. They tied him up, hit him in the head with a gun, and even threatened his family. That's just messed up, tbh.

Local news is calling John a crypto investor, and they're saying the victim is an Italian guy. Turns out both of them had some kind of connection to a crypto hedge fund in New York, at least according to a report the New York Times saw.

William Duplessie got arrested just the other day and has a hearing coming up. Both of these guys are being held right now. John Woeltz has to go to court in June for his arraignment. It's just a crazy situation, makes you think about who you can even trust, right?
