Feds Investigate Impersonation of White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles

So get this, the feds are looking into someone pretending to be Susie Wiles, you know, the White House Chief of Staff. The Wall Street Journal spilled the beans on Thursday, saying folks familiar with the situation confirmed it.

Apparently, Susie told her buddies that some contacts on her cell phone got hacked. This let the person pretending to be her get hold of private phone numbers. Good news is, it was her personal phone, not her government one. Still pretty wild though, right?

The Journal also reported that lately, senators, governors, big shot business folks, and others have been getting messages and calls from someone claiming to be Susie. Can you imagine that?! The White House and the FBI haven’t said anything about it yet, tbh.

Seems like the White House has had some info security headaches lately. Remember that hacker who broke into the communication service used by the former Trump national security advisor, Mike Waltz? Reuters said just recently they snagged messages from tons of American officials. And late last year, a White House official mentioned they thought China was behind a big cyber spying thing, known as Salt Typhoon. They apparently targeted and recorded calls of “very senior” American political figures. Crazy stuff.

Since Susie is a key person for Trump and runs a lot of things at the White House, anything on her personal phone would be super interesting to foreign spies and other bad guys. She's actually been targeted by hackers before, at least once. That was back during the end of Trump’s 2024 campaign. Hackers, who the U.S. says were working for Iran, went to journalists and a political person with messages sent to and from Susie. Some of those even got published eventually. Idk, it sounds like a messy situation all around.
