Impersonation Attempt on White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles Investigated

Okay, so get this. Seems like some folks out there tried to act like White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles. Yeah, seriously! The Wall Street Journal, you know, that big newspaper, said federal people in the U.S. are looking into it.

Apparently, Wiles told her friends that someone messed with her phone contacts. Like, totally hacked them! This let the person pretending to be her get a hold of private phone numbers. Wild, right? They said it was her personal phone, not the one she uses for work with the government.

So, according to the Journal, in the past few weeks, senators, governors, even big business leaders, got messages and calls from someone claiming to be Wiles. Can you imagine getting a call like that?

Now, nobody from the White House or the FBI said anything back right away when asked about it. But, you know, the White House has had some issues with keeping their info safe before.

For example, remember that hacker who got into that messaging thing former Trump national security guy Mike Waltz used? That hacker snagged messages from a bunch of American officials not too long ago. Also, late last year, a White House official mentioned that the U.S. thinks China was behind this big cyber spy thing, maybe even listening in on calls from really important American politicians.

Since Wiles is super important to Trump and a big deal in the White House, anything on her personal phone would be like gold to foreign spies and other not-so-friendly people.

They say this isn't the first time Wiles has been targeted either. It happened back when Trump was running for president in 2024. According to the U.S., some hackers who they think were working for Iran went to reporters and a political person with messages they said were from Wiles. Some of those messages even ended up being published. It just goes to show you gotta be super careful out there, right?
