Impersonation Attempt Targets White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles

Okay, so get this. It sounds like some folks are trying to pretend they're Susie Wiles, you know, the White House Chief of Staff? According to the Wall Street Journal, some people who know what's going on said federal authorities are looking into it.
Apparently, Susie told some friends that someone hacked her personal cellphone contacts. That's how this impersonator got access to private phone numbers. It wasn't her work phone, thank goodness, just her personal one.
The report from the Journal says that lately, people like senators, governors, and even big shot business executives have been getting messages and calls from someone saying they're Susie. Wild, right? The White House and the FBI didn't comment right away when asked.
The White House has had some issues with keeping information safe to be honest. Remember that hacker who got into the app used by Mike Waltz, the former Trump national security guy? Reuters reported that they snagged messages from a bunch of American officials. Also, late last year, a White House official mentioned that the US thinks a big cyber attack from China, called Salt Typhoon, targeted and even recorded phone calls from some 'very senior' American politicians.
Since Susie is a really important person for Trump and basically runs things at the White House, anything on her personal phone would be super interesting to other countries' spy agencies and people who aren't exactly friendly. It turns out Susie has been a target for hackers before too, back when Trump was running for president in 2024. Authorities in the US suspected hackers working for Iran tried to give journalists and political people messages sent to and from Susie, and some of those ended up getting published. It just goes to show how important it is to protect your info, you know?
