Microsoft Subsidiary in Russia Plans Bankruptcy

Hey, so get this: one of Microsoft's setups in Russia, you know, like a part of the company there, is planning to go bankrupt. That's what this official paper trail, called Fedresurs, said the other day. Honestly, Microsoft didn't say anything back right away when someone asked them about it.

This whole thing comes after Russian President Vladimir Putin said this week that services from other countries, like Microsoft and even Zoom, should be, like, 'throttled' or reduced in Russia. He thinks Russia should use its own software stuff instead. It's kinda wild, right?

Microsoft actually kept doing a lot of their important services in Russia even after the whole Ukraine thing started back in February 2022. But then, in June 2022, they were like, 'Okay, things are changing here, and it's hitting our business, so we're gonna really cut back our operations.' They had already pulled some Russian news apps from their app store and stopped running ads for Russian state-sponsored media right after things kicked off.

That note on the Fedresurs thingy on Friday specifically said that called Microsoft Rus LLC is aiming to say they're bankrupt. Some news folks reported that Microsoft has three other groups in Russia too, but nobody really knows yet how those other parts might be doing.

Remember how Google's Russia group went bankrupt in 2022? They said it was because the Russian authorities took their bank account, so they couldn't even pay their employees or anyone else they needed to pay there. Makes you wonder what's going on with Microsoft's situation, huh?
