Shein Plans More Safety Tests After EU Warning

Okay, so you know Shein, right? The super fast fashion place? Well, apparently, the folks in the European Union gave them a bit of a heads-up. Seems like they're worried about products on Shein's site not being totally safe. Like, they're saying if Shein doesn't fix things, they could get fined!
So, Shein is saying they're gonna do way more testing this year. They're aiming for like, 2.5 million tests on their products in 2025. That's a jump from the 2 million they did last year. They're also putting aside a decent chunk of money, $15 million, to make sure they're following all the rules.
Shein sells their own clothes in a ton of countries, like 150! But they also have this marketplace thing where other sellers can hawk stuff, like toys, gadgets, and home goods. These items usually come straight from factories, mostly in China, and go right to shoppers everywhere. Since they started this marketplace, Shein has actually stopped working with over 540 sellers because they weren't following the rules. Wild, huh?
Anyway, the consumer protection groups in the EU and the European Commission basically told Shein on Monday that some of their practices are breaking EU consumer laws. They gave Shein a month to respond and explain what they're gonna do. It's kinda a big deal, I guess.
