Someone Tried to Impersonate White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles

Okay, so get this... the Wall Street Journal said on Thursday that folks are investigating something wild. Apparently, someone tried to pretend to be the White House Chief of Staff, Susie Wiles. Like, seriously tried to be her.

The story goes that Susie told some people she knows that her cell phone contacts got messed with. This meant the person pretending to be her could get their hands on private phone numbers. The report made it clear this was her personal phone, not her work one, which is, you know, a little less scary but still not great.

The Journal also said that over the last few weeks, things got even weirder. Senators, governors, big shot US business leaders, and other important people were getting texts and calls from someone acting like Susie. Imagine getting a call from someone you think is the White House Chief of Staff! That's kinda wild, right?

Neither the White House nor the FBI said anything right away when they were asked about it. And it's not the first time the White House has had problems with keeping information safe. Remember that hacker who got into the messaging thing a former Trump guy used? They apparently snatched messages from tons of US officials, Reuters said not too long ago. And late last year, a White House person mentioned that the US thought China was behind a big cyber spying thing, targeting and recording phone calls of 'really important' American political figures. Yeah, pretty intense stuff.

So, since Susie Wiles is a really important person for Trump and a major part of how the White House works, anything on her personal phone would be super interesting to foreign spies and other unfriendly folks. Makes sense, right? She's been targeted by hackers before too, apparently, back when Trump was running for president in 2024. Hackers that the US says were working for Iran even went to reporters and a political operative with some messages they said were from Susie. Some of those even ended up being published. Idk, it just shows how much is going on behind the scenes.
