Someone tried to impersonate White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles

So get this, the Wall Street Journal just reported that federal folks here in the U.S. are looking into some really weird stuff. Someone apparently tried to pretend to be Susie Wiles, who's like, the main person in charge at the White House.

From what I hear, Wiles told some of her buddies that her cell phone contacts got messed with. This let the fake person get their hands on private phone numbers. Good thing it was her personal phone and not her work one, right? The Journal also said that lately, people like senators, governors, and even big business bosses were getting calls and messages from someone saying they were Wiles. How strange is that?

The White House and the FBI didn't say anything right away when asked about it. You know, the White House has had some issues with keeping information safe. Remember that story about the hacker who got into the communication app used by Mike Waltz, who used to be a big deal for Trump? They snagged messages from tons of U.S. officials. That was just recently, too. And late last year, someone from the White House mentioned that the U.S. thinks China might have been listening in and recording calls of some 'really important' American politicians. They called that whole thing Salt Typhoon.

Since Wiles is super important to Trump and runs a lot of things at the White House, whatever is on her personal phone would be something that foreign spies and others who don't like us would really want to see. Apparently, this isn't the first time hackers have gone after Wiles either. It happened back in the last few months of Trump's presidential campaign in 2024. At that time, hackers that the U.S. says were working for Iran apparently went to reporters and someone working in politics with a bunch of messages that were sent to and from Wiles. Some of those even got published. Wild, right?
