Surprising iPhone Sales Uptick in China for April

Hey, so get this: turns out those fancy foreign phones, like iPhones and stuff, actually sold a little better in China back in April.
Yeah, according to some official-sounding report that came out Friday, about 3.52 million foreign phones were shipped there in April. That's a tiny bump up from the 3.50 million they shipped the year before.
Since Apple is like the big kahuna when it comes to foreign phones in China, how they do really matters for these numbers. This little jump in April is kinda interesting because things were a bit slow for Apple early in the year.
Like, their phone sales in China actually went down by 9% in the first few months. Idk why exactly, but they're facing a lot more competition from companies right there in China. Maybe that's why they've been cutting prices to try and keep up?
I mean, some online shopping sites in China were even giving discounts of over 2,500 yuan, which is like over 350 bucks, on the newest iPhones earlier this month. Crazy, right? It makes you wonder what Apple will do next to stay competitive, especially with homegrown brands getting so popular. What do you think is the biggest challenge for foreign phone companies in China these days?
