Thoma Bravo Looking to Sell Apryse for Billions

So, I heard some juicy news! Apparently, the big investment company called Thoma Bravo might sell this software company called Apryse. People who know what's up say they're looking to get over $3 billion for it. That's a ton of money, right?

They're chatting with some fancy investment bankers over at Lazard to help make it happen. It sounds like other private equity outfits are already showing interest. Maybe Thoma Bravo will even keep a small piece of Apryse after the sale. But hey, nothing's set in stone, you know? Everything's still hush-hush.

Apryse is based out there in Denver, Colorado. They make this cool tech that helps folks who create apps for phones and computers. It lets them mess around with digital documents, like making them, changing them, and turning them into different types. Plus, they can put this doc stuff right into their own apps.

Some seriously big names use Apryse, like Novartis, Wells Fargo, and even DocuSign. According to the whispers, Apryse is making over $100 million a year before all the taxes and stuff. And get this, they're growing faster than 20 percent every year! If a deal happens, they figure the company could be worth like 30 times that earnings number, or maybe even more. Crazy, right?

Apryse used to be called PDFTron, did you know that? It started way back in 1998. Thoma Bravo bought it in 2021, and this guy named Hudson Smith was a big part of that. They changed the name to Apryse a couple of years ago. Some other investors and the people who run the company still own a little bit of it.

Since Thoma Bravo took over, Apryse has bought nine other companies to make their stuff even better and reach more people around the world. Just this week, they announced they bought a company from the Netherlands that does digital documents. And last year, they bought one that uses AI, called Lead Technologies. They've been busy bees, for sure!
