Thoma Bravo Looking to Sell Document Software Company Apryse

Okay, so get this! Word on the street is that Thoma Bravo, you know, that big buyout firm, is thinking about selling Apryse. Apparently, some other companies have shown interest in buying this document software company, and it could be worth over $3 billion. Pretty wild, right?

So, Thoma Bravo is working with some fancy investment bankers at Lazard to figure out the sale. I guess some other private equity firms are already asking about it. Maybe Thoma Bravo will even keep a little bit of the company, like a part of it. They did say that a sale isn't for sure, though, so who knows what will happen.

Apryse, which used to be called PDFTron back in 1998, is based in Denver, Colorado. They make technology that helps people create, edit, and change digital documents. Lots of big companies use their stuff, like Novartis, Wells Fargo, and even DocuSign. That's pretty cool!

These folks are making a ton of money, over $100 million a year before all the taxes and stuff. And they're growing fast, like more than 20% each year. Sources say if they sell, the company could be valued at like 30 times their earnings, or even more! Crazy how much money is flying around in the software world.

Thoma Bravo bought Apryse (or PDFTron back then) in 2021. They've been busy since then, buying up nine other companies to make Apryse even better and reach more people around the world. They just bought a company called TallComponents this week, and they also bought one last year that uses AI. It sounds like they're really expanding!

It makes you wonder, what's next for Apryse? And who will end up buying them? It's definitely going to be interesting to see how this all plays out.
