Thoma Bravo May Sell Apryse Document Software Company

So get this, it looks like Thoma Bravo, these buyout folks, might be thinking about selling Apryse. You know, the company that does all that cool document software stuff? Apparently, some other companies are interested in buying it, which is pretty neat.
People in the know say Thoma Bravo is working with Lazard, which are investment bankers, to figure things out. And yeah, some other private equity firms are already showing interest. It sounds like Thoma Bravo might even keep a bit of a stake in Apryse if a deal happens.
But hey, nothing's set in stone yet, you know? That's what these anonymous sources told Reuters. Thoma Bravo didn't want to talk about it, and Apryse and Lazard didn't even respond to Reuters' questions. Classic, right?
Apryse is based in Denver, Colorado, and they make tech that helps developers build apps that can work with digital documents. Like, they can create, edit, convert, and even add those features to their own apps. Their customers include some big names, like Novartis, Wells Fargo, and DocuSign, according to their website.
These sources also said Apryse is doing pretty well, making over 100 million bucks before taxes and stuff, and they're growing over 20% every year. If they do sell, people are saying it could be valued at 30 times their earnings or even higher!
Fun fact, Apryse used to be called PDFTron way back in 1998. Thoma Bravo bought them in 2021, with this guy Hudson Smith leading the deal. They changed the name to Apryse two years later. Silversmith Capital Partners and the company's management still own a piece of the business.
Since Thoma Bravo took over, Apryse has bought nine other companies to make its tech even better and reach more people globally. Just this week, they announced they bought TallComponents, a Dutch digital document company. And last year, they scooped up Lead Technologies, which makes software that uses AI. Pretty wild how much they're expanding, right?
