Thoma Bravo Might Sell Apryse - Big Deal for Document Software

Okay, so get this! Looks like Thoma Bravo, that big buyout firm, is thinking about selling Apryse. You know, they make that document stuff for developers. Seems like some folks are interested in buying them, maybe for over 3 billion bucks!

Sources are saying Thoma Bravo is chatting with Lazard, like investment bankers, to figure out the sale thing. Apparently, other private equity companies are already showing interest. Maybe Thoma Bravo will even keep a little bit of the company. But hey, these sources also said that a sale isn't for sure, so idk, we'll see what happens. They didn't want their names out there because it's all, like, private talks.

Thoma Bravo didn't say anything when asked, and Apryse and Lazard didn't get back to Reuters either. Apryse is based in Denver, Colorado, and they make technology that helps developers build things on phones and computers that can create, change, and switch digital documents. They can also put these features right into their own apps. Some pretty big companies use them, like Novartis, Wells Fargo, and DocuSign, according to their website.

These sources spilled the beans that Apryse is making over 100 million dollars before all the interest, taxes, and stuff are taken out, and they're growing fast, more than 20% every year. So, insiders think a deal could value the company at 30 times what they're making before all that stuff is factored in, or even more! Wild, right?

Fun fact: Apryse used to be called PDFTron. It started way back in 1998. Thoma Bravo bought them in 2021. This guy, Hudson Smith, who's like a co-head at Thoma's Discover platform, led the investment. Then, two years later, they changed the name to Apryse. Some other investors, Silversmith Capital Partners, and the people who run the company, still have a small piece of the business.

Since Thoma Bravo took over, Apryse has bought nine other companies to make their stuff better and reach more people. That includes a company in the Netherlands called TallComponents, which they just announced this week. And last year, they got Lead Technologies, which makes software using AI. So, they've been busy!
