White House Chief of Staff Impersonated, Feds Investigating

Okay, so get this. Apparently, some folks are trying to pretend they're Susie Wiles, you know, the White House Chief of Staff? Yeah, that's what the Wall Street Journal said today. It's a whole thing, and the feds are looking into it.

So, what happened? The report says Susie told some of her friends that someone messed with her cell phone contacts. This let the fake Susie get a hold of private phone numbers. And just to be clear, this was her personal phone, not her work one.

The Journal also reported that lately, lots of important people, like senators, governors, and even some big business bosses, have been getting calls and messages from someone claiming to be Susie. Wild, right? The White House and the FBI didn't say anything right away when asked about it, btw.

The White House has had some info security problems before, so this isn't totally out of the blue. Remember that hacker who got into the messages of Mike Waltz, who used to be a national security adviser for Trump? He apparently got messages from tons of US officials. And late last year, a White House official mentioned that they thought China was maybe going after and recording calls from 'very senior' American politicians.

Since Susie is like, a super important person for Trump and pretty much runs the show at the White House, imagine what kind of stuff is on her personal phone. Foreign spy groups and other bad guys would probably LOVE to get their hands on that info. It sounds like Susie has been targeted before too. Back when Trump was running for president in 2024, some hackers that the US thinks were working for Iran supposedly went to reporters and a political person with messages from Susie's phone. Some of those even got out there.
