White House Chief of Staff Impersonation Investigation

White House Chief of Staff Impersonation Investigation

Okay, so get this. Looks like some folks in the US government are looking into someone pretending to be Susie Wiles, you know, the White House Chief of Staff. The Wall Street Journal reported on it, saying some people who know what's up told them about it.

Apparently, Susie told her friends that some people in her phone contacts got hacked. That's how the person pretending to be her got hold of private phone numbers. Good to know it was her personal phone, though, not her work one.

The Journal also said that over the past few weeks, a bunch of important people like senators, governors, and big business bosses got messages and calls from someone saying they were Susie. Wild, right?

I guess the White House and the FBI didn't say anything when folks asked them about it right away. This isn't the only time the White House has had issues with keeping info safe, though. Remember that hacker who got into the messages of Mike Waltz, a former Trump guy? Reuters said that hacker stole data from a bunch of US officials.

And late last year, a White House official mentioned that the US thinks China is behind a huge cyber spying thing called Salt Typhoon. They think it targeted and even recorded phone calls of some really important American political figures.

Since Susie Wiles is a big deal for Trump and a super important part of how the White House works, anything on her personal phone would be something foreign spy groups and other bad guys would love to get their hands on. Sources say hackers have tried to get to Susie before, especially when Trump was running for president in 2024. Back then, hackers that the US says were working for Iran reportedly went to reporters and a political worker with messages from Susie, and some of those messages even got out. Crazy stuff, huh?
